Job Title: Social Media Content Creator (3 months Internship)

About Mechaniya: Mechaniya is a textile brand that makes one of a kind knitted jacquard tapestries. Our design studio is based in Silvassa, located inside a knitting factory. Our tapestries blend computerised machine-knitted designs with hand-done elements like crochet and embroidery, drawing inspiration from India’s rich textile heritage. The jacquard designs are created digitally by women artisans, many of whom had not used computers before. We train them to use specialized software for designing intricate patterns. This process highlights their capability to master new technology, from traditional handwork to digital design.

Role Overview: We are seeking a creative and visually driven Social Media Content Creator Intern to join our team in Silvassa. This role is crucial in showcasing the dynamic story and craftsmanship behind our "Mechaniya-made" textile art. You will be responsible for producing engaging visual content for our Instagram platform, highlighting our innovative process and the empowering stories of the women artisans.

Key Responsibilities:

● Create high-quality, well-shot images and engaging reels for Mechaniya's Instagram page.

● Develop impactful "work in progress" videos, capturing the evolution of our textile art from idea to finished piece.

● Produce compelling behind-the-scenes content, showcasing our studio environment and sustainable practices, including the creative reuse of waste materials.

● Film and edit interviews with our women artisans, sharing their unique stories of learning, growth, and community.

● Design and execute walkthrough videos that highlight the intricate details of our knitted jacquard tapestries.

● Capture authentic moments, implement seamless transitions, and craft compelling visual narratives.

● Collaborate with the team to ensure the content aligns with the brand’s vision and values

Qualities we are looking for:

● Knowledge of social media content creation, particularly for Instagram (reels, static images, stories).

● A portfolio showcasing excellent photography and videography skills.

● Proficiency in video editing with an understanding of transitions and storytelling techniques.

● An eye for detail and aesthetics.

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

● Passion for storytelling and an interest in textiles, craft, and women's empowerment.
