Job Description

Role & responsibilities:

Develop 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for mechanical components and assemblies using tools like Solidworks, Creo, or equivalent.
Support the end-to-end NPD process including concept development, prototyping, design validation, and release to manufacturing.
Perform engineering calculations for strength, tolerance stack-up, thermal and mechanical performance, etc.
Work closely with Project Engineers, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure design feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
Apply GD&T and DFM/DFA principles to ensure product reliability and ease of manufacturing.
Participate in design reviews, risk assessments (FMEA), and documentation as per organization and regulatory standards.
Support prototype builds, testing activities, and iterative improvements based on test outcomes.
Maintain accurate engineering documentation including BOMs, ECOs, and design records

ESSENTIAL Skills:

Proficient in 3D CAD modeling and drawing creation (Creo/SolidWorks preferred).
Strong fundamentals in mechanical design, materials, tolerancing, and engineering calculations.
Hands-on experience in design validation, prototype development, and testing support.
Knowledge of PLM systems and engineering change management processes.
Good knowledge on drawing Standards (ISO, ANSI/ASME)
Hands on experience on Sheet metal & Plastic design.
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Able to work on global product development projects independently.

Desirable Skills:

Knowledge of various manufacturing processes like injection molding, sheetmetal stamping, castings, and forgings.
Good planning and interpersonal skills
Experience in working with global, cross-functional teams.
Exposure to FEA tools or simulation is an advantage.
