Design Engineer - HVAC

Role & responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy and compliance of HVAC working drawings with project standards.
• Coordinate HVAC layouts with civil, architectural, electrical, plumbing, and fire-fighting services.
• Resolve site-related technical issues and support smooth execution with contractors.
• Obtain drawing approvals, maintain drawing logs, and issue approved drawings to site.
• Manage ISO documentation and supplier data records.
• Delegate and verify quantity take-offs.
• Monitor productivity and support quality assurance plans.
• Prepare record drawings and identify additional work requirements.

Key Skills

• Expertise in HVAC systems: chillers, AHUs, VAVs, FCUs, split units, ventilation, and smoke control.
• Strong design skills in ductwork, pipe sizing, pump and fan pressure calculations.
• Familiarity with international and GCC codes, especially Dubai/Abu Dhabi regulations.
• Knowledge of related services: electrical, ELV, plumbing, and fire-fighting.
• Proficient in technical drawing interpretation and documentation.
• Fluent in English with strong communication and computer skills.
• Active team player with leadership and training capabilities.

Preferred candidate profile

Graduate in Mechanical engineering (B.E. / B.Tech) / Diploma in Mech engineering along with:

• Approved training in HVAC & related field
• Proficient in use of engineering calculations such as HAP

Knowledge of BIM softwares such as Revit & Navisworks would be an advantage.

• 5 years engineering experience with at least 2 years for a Graduate Engineer OR 10 years engineering experience with at least 4 years for Diploma Engineer in the preparation of air-conditioning construction drawings.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Site experience in installation / execution (Preferably in GCC countries)
• Knowledge of Electrical & Plumbing / Fire Fighting systems would be an advantage
• Hands on experience in Revit / Navisworks would be an advantage.
