Description
As a Geotechnical Engineer, your role involves developing and proposing preliminary engineering solutions based on site conditions and project requirements. You will be responsible for preparing preliminary designs for various structures such as foundations, embankments, slopes, retaining walls, and underground excavation support systems. Your key responsibilities will include: - Defining methodologies for the execution of geotechnical works. - Estimating the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) at the tendering stage for geotechnical works to ensure accurate quantity assessments. - Preparing technical documents specifying investigation requirements for detailed design development and technical specifications of materials for procurement needs. - Conducting and monitoring field mapping, investigations, and topographical surveys. - Preparing Geological & Geotechnical Investigation Reports (GIR) and Geotechnical Baseline Report (GBR). - Preparing Design Basis Report and detailed design & engineering for various structures. - Performing detailed Geotechnical Design & Analysis of underground structures, excavation support systems, tunnels, and shafts. - Conducting Geo-mechanical & Geotechnical design of tunnels by Tunnel Boring Machines and structural interfaces. - Designing Dams & Foundations, including foundation treatment measures, drainage systems, and excavation stability. - Instrumentation & Monitoring of Dams, Embankments, slopes, and underground structures. - Conducting detailed seismic design and liquefaction studies. - Performing design analysis and calculations using FEM 2D/3D and LEM design software. - Preparing technical documents referring to design basis memorandums, codal provisions, and geotechnical interpretation reports. Your expertise will also be required for the scrutiny and review of drawings provided by consultants/clients, ensuring constructability as per site conditions, and preparing construction methodologies based on detailed drawings and technical specifications.
