As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and proposing preliminary engineering solutions based on site conditions and project requirements. You will prepare preliminary designs for various structures including foundations, embankments, open-cut slopes, retaining structures, reinforced earth walls, and underground excavation support systems. It will be your task to define methodologies for the execution of geotechnical works and estimate the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) during the tendering stage to ensure accurate quantity assessments. Your role will also involve preparing technical documents that specify investigation requirements for detailed design development, as well as creating technical specifications of materials for procurement needs. You will be responsible for conducting and monitoring field mapping, investigations, and topographical surveys, as well as preparing Geological and Geotechnical Investigation Reports (GIR), Geotechnical Baseline Reports (GBR), and Design Basis Reports. Additionally, you will be involved in detailed design and engineering for various structures such as foundations, embankments, open-cut slopes, retaining structures, reinforced earth walls, and large underground structures. Your responsibilities will include detailed geotechnical design and analysis of tunnels, shafts, dams, foundations, and other structures using advanced design software. You will also be tasked with performing design analysis and calculations to optimize design for various geotechnical components. As a Civil Structural Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include the following: Pre-Bid Design: - Conduct a thorough study of tender documents and prepare technical queries. - Generate the Bill of Quantity for structure and civil works to facilitate tender estimates. Detail Engineering: - Prepare and review design calculations for support structures and foundations of substation equipment. - Review design and details of gantry structures and foundations. - Create and review design and details of earth retaining structures. - Analyze and discuss soil investigation reports with Geotech consultants or clients regarding geotechnical aspects. - Provide necessary inputs to draftspersons and review civil drawings for various structures. - Demonstrate proficiency in various design standards such as IS Codes, EURO Codes, and American codes, with experience in international projects. - Possess expertise in seismic design and detailing of buildings and other structures. - Review detailed structural and fabrication drawings provided by fabricators. - Prepare detailed Bill of Quantities for civil items. - Issue drawings to site or client. - Offer technical support to the site during project execution and commissioning. - Collect site data through site visits. Post Graduation in Structural Engineering; Good communication skills. The Role As a Principal Structural Engineer with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience. Primary objective :- Assist in establishing monitoring Projectschedule and quality of design work including modelling deliverables for the projects / programs headed by Project Lead Engineer in the respective regions. Review Work-hour estimates and Schedule of deliverables for the discipline on proposals / projects carried out by Leads. Step in for discussion with HO DMs for proposals scope/efforts finalization establish correct benchmarking.
