Design and Technology Teacher

As a Design and Technology teacher in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) faculty, your role will involve planning and delivering high-quality lessons following the IBDP Design Technology syllabus. You will be responsible for creating a stimulating learning environment that fosters creativity, innovation, and practical skills development. Guiding students through the design cycle, supporting them with Internal Assessments (IA), and preparing them for external examinations are key aspects of your role. Additionally, maintaining a safe workshop or lab environment and encouraging cross-curricular connections will be part of your responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: - Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the IBDP Design Technology syllabus. - Create a stimulating learning environment to promote creativity and practical skills development. - Guide students through the design cycle, including research, ideation, prototyping, and evaluation. - Support students with Internal Assessments (IA) and exam preparation. - Maintain an organized and safe workshop or lab environment with necessary tools and materials. - Encourage cross-curricular connections and real-world applications of design and technology. - Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and school-wide initiatives. - Provide regular feedback to students and maintain open communication with parents. - Stay updated on developments in design technology, sustainability, and industry trends. Qualifications & Requirements: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Engineering, Industrial Design, Technology Education, or related field. IBDP Design Technology training or certification preferred. - Minimum 2 years of experience teaching Design Technology, preferably within the IB framework. - Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., Fusion 360, SolidWorks), digital fabrication tools, and traditional workshop equipment. - Strong understanding of IB philosophy and pedagogy. - Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. - Passion for innovation, sustainability, and global design thinking.,
