Deputy Quality Manager || Auto Component || Hosur

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality System Management

• Maintain and improve quality management systems (ISO, IATF, etc.)
  
• Ensure that all procedures, work instructions and quality standards are followed
  

2. Incoming Material Inspection

• Evaluate and approve raw materials, components and suppliers for compliance
  
• Conduct audits of supplier quality, corrective actions where needed
  

3. Process Quality Control

• Monitor and analyze process parameters in plastic moulding / extrusion / blow moulding to ensure product consistency
  
• Set & maintain quality checkpoints, conduct inspections (first piece, in-process, final)
  

4. Defect Analysis & Problem Solving

• Root cause analysis of quality issues (using tools like 5-Why, Fishbone, FMEA, etc.)
  
• Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  

5. Quality Metrics & Reporting

• Track metrics such as scrap / rework rate, defect rate, yield, PPAP / control plan adherence
  
• Prepare quality reports, present findings to leadership, suggest improvement plans
  

6. Customer & Internal Audits

• Manage customer complaints / non-conformances, coordinate with customer visits / audits
  
• Drive internal audits, manage audit findings
  

7. Team Leadership & Training

• Lead and mentor quality team (inspectors, quality engineers)
  
• Conduct / arrange training programs on quality tools, best practices
  

8. Continuous Improvement

• Lead initiatives to reduce cost of poor quality (COPQ)
  
• Participate in lean / Six Sigma / Kaizen projects to enhance efficiency and quality
  

9. Documentation & Compliance

• Ensure documentation is maintained properly (quality records, calibration, traceability)
  
• Ensure compliance with safety, environment, regulatory standards related to plastics
  

Skills & Competencies

• Strong technical knowledge of plastic processing and related quality issues (warpage, shrinkage, surface defects, dimensional tolerances, etc.)
  
• Good understanding of moulds, tools, processing machines and defects specific to plastics
  
• Proficient in quality tools / methodologies (SPC, Statistical Process Control; capability studies; quality audits)
  
• Able to interpret engineering drawings and tolerances
  
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  
• Good communication skills (to interact with vendors, customers, internal teams)
  
• Leadership: can manage a small team and drive ownership of quality
