Deputy Nursing Superintendent

Determines goals, aims, objectives and policies of the Nursing Services.

To Prepare and implement the protocol and SOPs of various nursing services.

Responsible for availability of staffs in each department.

Implements hospital policies and rules through various nursing wards/departments.

Depute nurses according to their previous experience and skills.

Selects and secures proper equipment needed for the hospital

Prepares budgets for the Nursing Services Departments.

To ensure retention of the staff nurses

To help in recruitment of Nursing Staff

Assists in student selection and recruitment of other auxiliary staff whose duties are related to Nursing.

Prepares department wise duty roster.

Management of staff leave and absenteeism.

Evaluate the performance of the staffs.

Decides and recommends personnel and material requirement for running various Nursing service departments of the hospital.

Maintains discipline among Nurses and other auxiliary staff.

Participates in hospital and intra-hospital meetings/conferences.

Ensures the safe, infection free and efficient care rendered in the various Nursing departments of the hospital.

To ensure standard of care is maintained and patients are nursed in a clean, orderly, and safe environment

Looks after the welfare of the patients, their relatives, and the Nursing staff.

Regularly motivate and counsel the staff nurses to more take care of patients

Makes regular hospital rounds in hospitals and wards.

To ensure the training attendance of Nursing staff

Plan and conduct the staff development programmes

Guides and counsels Nursing staff.

Arranges orientation programmes for new Nursing staff.

Maintains discipline among nursing personnel.

Organizes experience programmes for post-graduate students from different hospitals.

Arranges and participates in professional and social functions of the staff and students.
