Deputy General Manager Materials

As the Head of Materials at UPL India, your main role is to oversee the entire raw material procurement operations for all the plants. This includes sourcing B and C class items. Your responsibilities will involve managing RM Proc operations totaling close to Rs. 3000 Cr, with a significant portion being imported. You will be in charge of negotiating and contracting with approximately 300-400 suppliers, including key items such as Coal, Sulphur, P2S5, Deta, Phosgene gas, and Caustic Chlorine. Your main areas of focus will include: - Supervising local RM procurement operations - Managing imports of base chemicals, intermediates, technicals, and formulations - Handling procurement projects such as cost savings, alternate suppliers, specification changes, vendor quality audits, IT system implementation, and process improvement - Managing supplier relationships through visits to ensure alignment, compliance, and build strong partnerships Minimum requirements for this role include a graduation in Chemistry (preferable) and an MBA in Supply Chain Management.
