Job Description

Purpose:

The Deputy Manager Finance will support the Finance Manager in managing day-to-day financial operations, reporting, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls. The role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills, sound knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting & Accounting

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure timely closing of books of accounts in compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., Ind AS, IFRS).
  • Monitor general ledger and reconcile key accounts regularly.

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Monitor actual vs. budgeted expenses and highlight variances with reasons.
  • Support business units with financial analysis and reporting.

3. Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (GST, TDS, Income Tax, etc.).
  • Coordinate with internal and statutory auditors for audit planning and execution.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and resolution of audit queries.

4. Taxation

  • Support in filing of direct and indirect tax returns.
  • Ensure timely remittance of statutory dues and compliance with regulatory deadlines.
  • Liaise with consultants and tax authorities as needed.

5. Treasury & Cash Flow Management

  • Monitor daily cash flows and fund requirements.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of banking limits and working capital facilities.
  • Coordinate with banks for documentation, loans, and forex transactions.

6. Process Improvements & Controls

  • Implement and monitor internal financial controls and SOPs.
  • Identify areas of process improvement and automation.
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in all financial processes.

Qualifications:

  • CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) or equivalent professional qualification.
  • 4–7 years of relevant experience in core finance and accounting functions.
  • Strong understanding of Indian accounting and taxation laws.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • High integrity and professional ethics.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in [industry, e.g., manufacturing, services, FMCG].
  • Exposure to internal and external audits.
  • Working knowledge of international reporting standards (IFRS, US GAAP) is a plus.
