Decarbonization Manager

As the Decarbonization Manager at ETG, you will play a crucial role in leading our strategy to reduce the carbon footprint of warehouses and factories in line with the SBTi trajectory. The majority of our operations are based in Sub-Sahara Africa, with additional sites in Southeast Asia and Canada. Your primary responsibilities will include developing business cases to reduce energy consumption, exploring alternative energy options such as solar power, optimizing waste management processes, and measuring the cost and GHG impact of implemented interventions. Additionally, you will collaborate with factory teams in different countries and oversee any contracted consultancy services. Working closely with the Group Sustainability team and other business functions, including Finance & Treasury and commodity trade departments, you will optimize monitoring and reporting on the carbon footprint of warehouses and factories. Your expertise in environmental sciences, engineering, or related studies, combined with at least 5 years of practical experience in GHG reporting and reduction trajectories, will be essential in identifying and implementing cost-efficient solutions to reduce our carbon footprint. Your strong communication skills will be pivotal in ensuring effective collaboration with factory teams and senior management. Your geographic scope of responsibility will cover Sub-Sahara Africa, Southeast Asia, and Canada. You will liaise with internal stakeholders such as the Group Sustainability team, Group Treasury team, and Operations teams of Business Units. Your role as a self-starter will require you to prioritize tasks effectively with minimal supervision.
