Description
As an Engineering Director Firmware at Micron Technology, your role will involve leading the DC SSD Firmware function and being responsible for the architecture, design, and development of DC SSD drives. You will collaborate with various teams to plan and deliver Firmware, lead DC SSD programs, and ensure the successful execution of agile frameworks with milestone and exit criteria. Your understanding of SSD architecture and design will be essential in identifying risks and developing mitigations to meet project deadlines. Additionally, you will focus on maintaining commonality across different programs and sites, hiring and motivating a high-quality team, and serving as a technical leader alongside your team. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead function/functions in DC SSD Firmware - Collaborate with architecture, simulation, development, validation, ODT, and other cross-functional teams to plan and deliver Firmware as per schedule - Plan and lead DC SSD programs, including bottoms-up planning and execution in an agile framework - Identify risks and develop mitigations to maintain commonality across different programs and sites - Recruit and retain a high-quality team to ensure project success - Serve as a technical leader and work closely with the team **Qualifications Required:** - Strong knowledge of DC SSD in areas of FE, FTL, and BE Firmware - Experience in managing design/development of SSD Firmware - Hands-on experience in NVMe, FTL, NAND media (SLC, MLC, TLC, QLC), and controller design - Experience in developing products from the ground up - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work across teams and geographies - BS/MS in computer science or related field with at least 20 years of experience - Experience in managing multiple teams Micron Technology, Inc. is a global leader in memory and storage solutions dedicated to transforming how the world uses information to enrich the lives of all individuals.
