Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain
dbt models
,
macros
, and
transformations
to support analytics and reporting needs.
Implement scalable
data transformation pipelines
using
dbt Core
or
dbt Cloud
.
Develop
modular, reusable, and well-documented
SQL-based models following software engineering best practices.
Collaborate with
data engineers
,
analysts
, and
business teams
to define and implement data models aligned with organizational needs.
Implement and manage
dbt tests
(schema, data quality, and custom tests) to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Integrate dbt with
data ingestion and orchestration tools
such as
Airflow
,
Prefect
, or
Dagster
.
Optimize data transformations for
performance, maintainability, and cost efficiency
.
Use
Git
for version control and manage
CI/CD pipelines
for automated deployment of dbt projects.
Generate and maintain
dbt documentation
and
data lineage
using
dbt Docs
.
Work with
cloud data platforms
(Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks) and
data ingestion tools
(Fivetran, Airbyte, Stitch).
Contribute to the establishment of
data governance
,
naming conventions
, and
development standards
across teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications

3+ years
of hands-on experience with
dbt Core
or
dbt Cloud
.
Strong
SQL programming
skills, including CTEs, window functions, and query optimization.
Deep understanding of
ELT/ETL principles
and
data modeling techniques
(Star/Snowflake schema).
Experience with
modern cloud data warehouses
(Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks).
Proficiency in
version control (Git)
and
collaborative development workflows
.
Experience integrating dbt with
orchestration tools
(Airflow, Prefect, Dagster) and
data ingestion tools
(Fivetran, Stitch).
Familiarity with
CI/CD pipelines
for dbt deployment and
data testing frameworks
.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot data issues.
Excellent
communication
and
collaboration
abilities in cross-functional environments.
