Job Summary

6 years of experience in data engineering with at least 3 years handson with DBT and BigQueryStrong understanding of SQL data warehousing and ELT architectureExperience with data modeling especially dimensional modeling and performance tuning in BigQueryFamiliarity with legacy ETL tools like IBM DataStage and ability to reverseengineer existing pipelinesProficiency in Git CICD pipelines and dataOps practicesExcellent communication skills and ability to work independently

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in DBT Data Build Tool and Google BigQuery to help us with the migration from a legacy IBM DataStage environment This role is critical to modernizing our data infrastructure and enabling scalable cloudnative data transformation workflows The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data modeling ETLELT architecture and cloud data engineering along with excellent communication and collaboration skillsKey ResponsibilitiesPrior experience in migrating from IBM DataStage to DBT and BigQuery or similar data migration activities into the cloud solutionsDesign and implement modular testable and scalable DBT models aligned with business logic and performance needsOptimize and manage BigQuery datasets partitioning clustering and costefficient queryingCollaborate with stakeholders to understand existing pipelines and translate them into modern ELT workflowsEstablish best practices for version control CICD testing and documentation in DBTProvide technical leadership and mentorship to team members during the migration processEnsure high standards of data quality governance and security

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in cloud migration projects especially GCPKnowledge of data governance access control and cost optimization in BigQueryExposure to orchestration tools like AirflowFamiliarity with Agile methodologies and crossfunctional team collaboration
