DB ETL Developer

Location: Bangalore

Position Description:

Spend Management Technology (SMT), part of the Spend Management Technology

organization, is responsible for delivering enterprise technology solutions that support critical

firm-wide functions such as Sourcing, Contract Management, Accounts Payable, Asset

Management, and Third-Party Oversight. We are currently seeking a Backend/Database

Developer who will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining data

integration with new systems, data warehouses, and data extraction processes across multiple

SMT functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience in Sybase, DB2,

Unix/Linux shell scripting, Python, and database procedural languages. Familiarity with Postgres

is considered a plus. This role requires an individual who can work independently, is well-versed

in the full software development lifecycle, and demonstrates initiative as a self-starter.

Skills Required:

• Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field

• 57 years of experience as a hands-on developer in Sybase, DB2, and ETL technologies

• Extensive experience in data integration, interface design, and development of reusable

components

Advanced knowledge of:

Python

DB2 and Sybase

Shell scripting (Unix/Linux)

SQL and relational database concepts

Database design and modeling

Writing stored procedures, performance optimization, and tuning

• Strong understanding of data warehouse architecture and core DB principles

• Ability to make data-driven decisions with both hard and soft data

• Demonstrated success in delivering results and driving projects to completion

• Strategic mindset with strong technical acumen

• Commitment to continuous learning and team improvement

• Experience with API development is a plus

• Exposure to BI tools, Source-to-Pay systems like SAP Ariba, and Accounts Payable systems is a bonus

• Familiarity with Postgres and Python is advantageous
