As a Principal Software Engineer in the Salesforce Database (SDB) team, you will be part of a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment focused on defining the next generation of trusted enterprise computing in the cloud. Your role will involve designing and developing scalable, resilient, and fault-tolerant transactional and distributed systems with a primary focus on data storage. Here are the key responsibilities for this position: - Designing and developing scalable, resilient, and fault-tolerant transactional and distributed systems in enterprise production environments - Utilizing Java or C in a Unix/Linux Environment, with a strong understanding of modern object-oriented programming techniques and design patterns - Using telemetry and metrics to drive operational excellence - Learning quickly and delivering high-quality code in a dynamic team environment - Writing functional and unit tests, reviewing teammates" code, and ensuring high code quality - Embracing Agile development methodology and contributing to the continual improvement of team performance - Demonstrating effective communication, strong leadership skills, and the ability to mentor and be mentored by others - Displaying creativity and inventiveness, delivering incrementally and on time To excel in this role, you should have 15+ years of professional experience or a M.Tech. in a relevant academic field with 12+ years of professional experience. Experience with relational databases is a significant advantage. Additionally, you will be working on highly scalable, performant distributed systems with durable data storage capabilities and ensuring high availability of the stack above, including databases.
