Position Title: Database Engineer (MySQL/Python)

Job Type: Full-time, permanent. working from office.

Shift Timing: Night shift (U.S Timing)

Work Location: Saravanampatti, coimbatore

Joining Time preference: Immediate Joiners /15 to 20 days time.

Job Summary:

• We are looking for a skilled and proactive Database Engineer to own and

optimize our MySQL database stack, build reliable data pipelines, and ensure

high performance, scalability, and availability of our data infrastructure. This

role requires a mix of database administration, SQL optimization, Python

development, and cross-team collaboration to support both operational and

analytical needs.

Responsibilities:

• Own and manage the full MySQL stack: schema design, query optimization, indexing,

views, stored procedures, and performance tuning.

• Administer databases end-to-end, including installs, upgrades, patching, user/role

management, and security hardening.

• Implement backup and recovery strategies, database monitoring, and capacity planning.
• Design and develop Python-based ETL/data pipelines and automation workflows (batch

and scheduled jobs).

• Integrate APIs, implement data quality checks, and ensure reliability through testing and

logging.

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and analytics teams to deliver data models,

features, and reporting solutions.

• Support HA/DR (High Availability/Disaster Recovery) strategies: replication, fail over, and

migrations.

• Manage database scaling, troubleshooting, and proactive performance improvements.
• Leverage AWS RDS/Aurora (nice to have) and maintain strong proficiency in Linux, Git,

and scripting.

Qualifications:

• 35+ years of hands-on experience with MySQL database administration and SQL

optimization.

• Strong proficiency in Python for ETL pipelines, automation, and data integrations.
• Proven track record in database performance tuning and administration.
• Solid understanding of HA/DR, replication, and migrations.
• Familiarity with AWS RDS/Aurora or other cloud-based database services (nice to

have).

• Strong knowledge of Linux, Git, and shell scripting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, communication, and ability to collaborate across

teams.

• Willingness to participate in a light on-call rotation for production support.
