Title Database Engineer II Job Location: Bangalore

Job Description: We are seeking a talented and driven Database Backend Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with at least one modern database (MySQL or MongoDB), solid programming skills in Python and Shell scripting, and a track record of supporting production environments. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and optimize backend database solutions using MySQL or MongoDB. • Write efficient SQL queries or JavaScript logic for complex business requirements. • Automate regular and recurring database operational tasks via Python and Shell scripts. • Provide production support for database systems, including on-call troubleshooting and root cause analysis. • Monitor database performance and take proactive measures to ensure reliability, availability, and scalability. • Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless deployments and continuous integration. • Optional: Contribute to cloud-based deployments and automation (AWS/Azure) as required. • Work with configuration management and CI/CD tools such as Ansible, Chef, Jenkins, etc. • Maintain database documentation, backup/recovery plans, and security procedures. Required Skills & Qualifications • Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). • Hands-on experience in at least one major database system (MySQL or MongoDB mandatory). • Strong scripting skills in Python and Shell. • Proficient in writing complex SQL queries or backend JavaScript logic. • Demonstrated experience in automating routine database tasks. • Minimum [X] years experience in production support and troubleshooting. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; able to handle pressure and resolve issues decisively. • Good communication and teamwork abilities. Optional/Preferred Skills • Exposure to cloud environments: AWS and/or Azure. • Experience with configuration management and CI/CD tools (Ansible, Chef, Jenkins, etc.). • Knowledge of DevOps practices and infrastructure automation. • Experience with additional databases (Postgres, Redis, etc.) a plus.
