Database Developer/Lead - z/OS/MySQL

You are an experienced Database Developer Lead (DB2 UDB) with 6-9 years of experience, looking to join the team at NCG. In this role, you will be responsible for leading database development initiatives, focusing on DB2 UDB optimization, data migration, and performance tuning. Your key responsibilities will include developing and optimizing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts, as well as designing and implementing data migration strategies from DB2 z/OS to DB2 UDB. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications and functional designs. Additionally, you will lead database development projects from planning to deployment, ensuring quality and timely delivery. Your role will also involve providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers, as well as identifying and implementing process improvements and automation within the database. To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) along with 6-9 years of experience in database development, with a strong focus on DB2 UDB. You should have proven expertise in writing and optimizing complex queries, stored procedures, and data retrieval scripts, as well as experience in data migration from DB2 z/OS to DB2 UDB. Experience in the financial services or banking industry is highly desirable. Strong leadership and mentoring skills are essential, along with excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication capabilities.
