Database Developer

You are an experienced Senior Database Developer/Administrator with a strong background in MS SQL Server. With over 5 years of experience in database development and administration, your focus is on optimizing and maintaining complex databases used in banking applications. Your responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining database schemas, tables, stored procedures, triggers, and views to ensure that database structures support business needs and application requirements. You will manage and administer MS SQL Server databases, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. Additionally, you will optimize database performance through query optimization, indexing, and fine-tuning, while also implementing and enforcing data security policies and maintaining data integrity. You will be responsible for implementing database backup strategies, ensuring data protection and recoverability, as well as setting up and maintaining monitoring tools to track database performance, capacity, and health. Collaboration with development teams to design and implement database solutions for new applications and features, along with providing support for database-related issues, including troubleshooting and incident resolution, is also part of your role. Maintaining comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures, and generating reports on database performance, utilization, and other key metrics are essential tasks. Your technical skills include strong proficiency in SQL, hands-on experience with stored procedures, triggers, views, and database table design, knowledge of database backup, recovery, and monitoring tools, and proven experience in optimizing and fine-tuning SQL queries and database performance. Your qualifications include a minimum of 5+ years of experience in database development and administration, specifically with MS SQL Server. Relevant certifications in database management or MS SQL Server are a plus. Preferred qualifications include experience in the banking or financial services industry, familiarity with other database systems and technologies, and experience in database design, development, and maintenance.
