Database Administrator - Performance Tuning

About the Role :

- Administer, maintain, and optimize relational databases, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.

- Plan and execute cloud migration initiatives, including moving on-premises databases to Azure or AWS platforms.

- Monitor database and system performance using appropriate monitoring tools and implement improvements where needed.

- Manage backup and recovery operations, ensuring business continuity through reliable data protection strategies.

- Perform database patching and updates, coordinating with development and infrastructure teams to minimize downtime.

- Implement and maintain high availability solutions such as Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, and replication.

- Automate routine database tasks using scripts and tools such as PowerShell and T-SQL.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver tailored solutions.

- Stay current with the latest advancements in database technologies and industry best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Microsoft Certified Azure Database Administrator or equivalent certification preferred.

- 2+ years of experience managing relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, or similar).

- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and database migration strategies.

- Hands-on experience in backup/recovery solutions and disaster recovery planning.

- Proficiency in database performance tuning and system monitoring tools.

- Experience in automating tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, or similar scripting languages.

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
