Job Location: Permanent Remote Shift Timings: 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM IST We are seeking an experienced MySQL/MariaDB DBA with strong data modeling and advanced SQL skills to manage, optimize, and scale our database infrastructure. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing robust database architectures, ensuring high performance, and maintaining data integrity across mission-critical systems. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain highly available MySQL/MariaDB databases. Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies. Design and maintain logical and physical data models to support scalable application architecture. Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning solutions. Manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning. Ensure data security, compliance, and access controls. Collaborate with developers, architects, and DevOps teams on schema changes and performance improvements. Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting (e.g., Shell, Python). Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and patching. Required Skills & Qualifications 8+ years of hands-on experience as a DBA with MySQL or MariaDB . Proven expertise in data modeling (ERD, normalization, star/snowflake schemas). Strong proficiency in SQL query development and optimization. Experience with database design for high-volume transactional systems. Familiarity with replication , clustering , and high availability setups. Good understanding of storage engines (InnoDB, MyISAM, etc.). Experience with database monitoring tools (e.g., Percona Toolkit, PMM, Nagios, etc.). Knowledge of cloud platform - AWS RDS. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Nice to Have: Experience with NoSQL or NewSQL databases. Familiarity with ETL pipelines and data warehousing. Knowledge of DevOps tools and CI/CD processes.
