You are a skilled Data Engineer / Database Administrator (DBA) joining the dynamic team at Talent Worx. Your role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems to ensure data integrity and performance optimization. You should have a strong foundation in data engineering and database administration. Key Responsibilities: - Develop, construct, test, and maintain data architectures like databases and large-scale processing systems. - Design and optimize database schema, write SQL queries, and perform data modeling. - Administer and manage database systems for performance, security, and reliability. - Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize as required. - Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists to meet data requirements and enhance data availability. - Implement ETL processes for data movement and transformation from various sources. - Establish and enforce database standards and policies. - Create and maintain documentation of database designs, processes, and procedures. - Conduct regular security audits and ensure compliance with data protection regulations. - Automate repetitive tasks related to data management and database maintenance. Technical Skills: - Strong expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB). - Experience with data pipeline and ETL tools (e.g., AWS Glue, Talend). - Familiarity with cloud database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database). - Proficient in scripting languages like Python or Bash. - Understanding of data warehousing concepts and technologies. - Knowledge of data governance and security best practices. Required Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - 3 to 7 years of experience as a Data Engineer or DBA. - Proven experience in database management, design, and optimization. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
