This is a hybrid position based in Bangalore, India. As a Database Administrator, you play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of pharmaceutical data systems. Your expertise in testing methodologies, data validation, and automation is essential for maintaining high standards in our data solutions. You will be pivotal in building, maintaining, and enhancing data systems across the organization, offering a global opportunity to utilize your agile delivery skills and contribute to critical IT solutions" continuous improvement and delivery. Key Responsibilities: - Database Management: Installation, configuration, and upgrading of database software on AWS and Azure. Monitoring performance, optimizing queries, and conducting regular tuning. - Backup And Recovery: Implementing and testing robust backup and recovery strategies. - Security Measures: Establishing and maintaining database security, including access controls and encryption. Collaborating with security teams to ensure compliance. - Cloud Integration: Migrating and replicating data across AWS and Azure platforms. - High Availability And Scalability: Ensuring database availability and scalability with failover mechanisms and load balancing. - Collaboration: Working with development teams, system administrators, and network engineers. Participating in cross-functional teams for database design and optimization. - Technical Support: Providing Level 3 and 4 technical support, troubleshooting complex issues. Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. - Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Database - Specialty or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate. Essential Skills and Knowledge: - Proficiency in relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) databases. - Experience with AWS environments, RDS, and CI/CD methodologies. - Knowledge of Azure services, cloud-native databases, and integration services. - Strong skills in SQL for data manipulation and query optimization. - Proficiency in Python and familiarity with Pyspark for big data testing. - Ability to validate data transformations and understand data lineage. - Prior experience leading testing teams or projects. - Excellent communication, collaboration skills, and analytical thinking. - Familiarity with agile development environments, cloud platforms, and DevOps principles. - Understanding business requirements and translating them into technical requirements. - Contribution to data strategy, technical support, and continuous improvement. Preferred Skills: - Strong understanding of data architecture, engineering, operations, and reporting within Life Sciences/Pharma industry. - Proficiency in data analysis, automation, analytical thinking, and technical proficiency. - Experience with coding skills in SQL, R, and Python, along with expertise in machine learning techniques and data visualization. - Adherence to DevOps principles and experience with CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery.
