Description
Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of SQL Server database solutions to support critical business applications and processes. Provide expert-level database administration support, including installation, configuration, monitoring, backup and recovery, and performance tuning. Proactively identify and resolve complex database issues, optimizing performance and ensuring high availability and reliability. Develop and enforce database security policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive data and comply with regulatory requirements. Collaborate closely with development teams to design and optimize database schemas, queries, and stored procedures for maximum performance and scalability. Lead database upgrade and migration projects, coordinating with IT operations and development teams to minimize downtime and ensure a smooth transition. Develop and maintain documentation, including system specifications, configurations, and operational procedures, adhering to industry best practices and standards. Mentor and provide guidance to junior DBA team members, sharing expertise and fostering their professional growth and development. Professional Qualifications & Skills: Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology. 6+ years of experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator in a complex, enterprise-level environment. Expert-level proficiency in SQL Server database administration, including installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Demonstrated experience with performance tuning and optimization techniques to improve database performance and scalability. Deep understanding of database security principles and best practices, with a focus on authentication, authorization, and encryption. Extensive experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions such as Always-On Availability Groups, mirroring, and log shipping. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with stakeholders. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Data Management and Analytics) are highly desirable.
