Job Description

Role Overview: As a Data Steward, you will apply your practitioner level knowledge of a business domain to curate and validate the accuracy, security, and referential integrity of data necessary for driving compliance, safety, and critical business decision-making. Your responsibilities will include implementing technical changes and controls across systems of record, as well as communicating planned changes to data owners. You will work on implementing data requirements, conducting input quality checks, and providing technical insights into creating, remediating, and maintaining data definitions. Key Responsibilities: - Act as a custodian of production data, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and compliance across the organization, with a focus on safety and operational efficiency. - Enforce data governance policies, standards, and regulations, and participate in their improvement based on business requirements. - Assess, report, and resolve data quality issues through root cause analysis and remediation planning to ensure that data, documents, and models accurately represent the physical reality of assets. - Implement data requirements for systems of record, conduct input quality checks, and transpose data between package software. - Collaborate closely with data engineers and business analysts to ensure high-quality, standardized data. - Provide guidance to business users on data usage, access, and policies. - Assist in metadata management to ensure critical datasets are properly captured. - Facilitate collaboration between business and technology teams to enhance data literacy and governance. - Support regulatory and compliance efforts related to data privacy, security, and access control. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in a STEM area or equivalent experience. - 2+ years of experience in stewardship of production datasets within an operating Oil & Gas organization. - Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, master data management principles, policies, and compliance within the wells & subsurface data domain. - Ability to collaborate with business and technical teams to resolve data quality issues. - Excellent communication and documentation skills. - Analytical mindset with a strong focus on data accuracy and process improvement.,
