Data Scientist Senior

Role Overview: You will be joining a team of 10 experts in meteorology, agronomy, data science, and pedology as a data scientist at Weenat. Key Responsibilities: - Improve the quality of data, data products, and services - Develop new algorithms for processing environmental data (meteorological, agronomic, pedological, etc.) and building agronomically relevant parameters using machine-learning methods - Evaluate the performance of models and compare different data sources with reference products - Contribute to project progress reports for our R&D projects - Provide statistical analysis, figures, and maps for other teams at Weenat - Conduct various agroclimatic studies for our partners Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in data science (equivalent to Engineer/Master's degree) - Minimum 5 years of experience in data science - Skills in analyzing environmental data, spatial statistics, time series, mapping, machine-learning methods, stochastic processes, and model evaluation - Proficiency in Python programming, mastery of data analysis, machine-learning libraries, map-making, and graphing - Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, teaching skills for student support, good command of English - Experience in project management or supervision/management is a plus - Knowledge of meteorology, agronomy, and/or pedology is advantageous Additional Company Details: Weenat is offering a full-time permanent position for immediate hiring in Nantes or Clermont-Ferrand.
