Job Description

As a Data Engineer, you'll contribute to Volvo Cars vision of becoming a data-driven company. you'll help design and implement modern data architectures that power insights, analytics, and AI initiatives across business functions.

you'll work with:

Data transformation frameworks such as dbt, and data warehouses like Snowflake or BigQuery.
Backend engineering for data ingestion and orchestration.
Scalable data pipelines supporting real-time and batch processing.

What you'll do

Build and maintain data pipelines and transformation workflows using dbt.
Integrate multiple data sources and optimize data flow for performance and reliability.
Collaborate with analysts and scientists to design reusable data models.
Work with Snowflake or BigQuery for data warehousing and analytics solutions.
Ensure data quality, lineage, governance, and security.
Develop backend systems and APIs for data access and management.

What you'll bring

2 5 years of experience in data engineering or backend development.
Hands-on experience with dbt, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
Proficient in Python or other backend programming languages.
Strong knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and ETL best practices.
Familiarity with cloud platforms, GitHub actions and DevOps principles.
Curious and passionate about modern data technologies.
Excellent communicator and team player with an agile mindset.
