Data Engineer III

As a Data Engineer at McDonald's in Hyderabad, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining reliable Menu data products to support menu and marketing Analytics. Your responsibilities will include: - Developing and implementing new technology solutions to enhance data reliability and observability. - Leading data engineering initiatives supporting Product Mix Analytics for timely and accurate delivery of marketing and menu-related products. - Collaborating with the Product owner to define business rules that ensure the quality of Menu datasets. - Driving best practices for pipeline development, data governance, data security, and quality across marketing and menu-related datasets. - Ensuring scalability, maintainability, and quality of data systems for menu item tracking, promotion data, and marketing analytics. - Keeping abreast of emerging data engineering technologies, trends, and best practices to meet evolving Product Mix analytics needs. - Documenting data engineering processes, workflows, and solutions for knowledge sharing and future reference. - Mentoring and coaching junior data engineers, especially in areas related to menu item tracking, promotion data, and marketing analytics. - Coordinating and working with teams distributed across time zones as needed. Skills required for this role: - Leading teams to drive scalable data engineering practices and technical excellence within the Menu Data ecosystem. - Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related engineering field with deep experience in Cloud computing. - 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or related fields. - Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala for data processing and automation. - Hands-on experience with data orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Luigi) and big data ecosystems (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL). - Expert knowledge of Data quality functions like cleansing, standardization, parsing, de-duplication, mapping, hierarchy management, etc. - Ability to perform extensive data analysis using a variety of tools. - Proven ability to mentor team members and lead technical initiatives across multiple workstreams. - Effective communication and stakeholder management skills to drive alignment and adoption of data engineering standards. - Demonstrated experience in data management & data governance capabilities. - Familiarity with data warehousing principles and best practices. - Strong problem-solving skills using data and technology to solve complex data-related questions. - Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
