Data Engineer: Payment Operational Analytics

About This Role

Payment Operational Analytics, a dedicated subdivision of EXL, is actively seeking a dynamic Data Engineer for development and management of innovative healthcare products focused on Fraud, Waste, and Abuse detection for US insurance Payment Integrity. This role is ideal for a creative problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at documentation, and is adept at solving problems through code.

An ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Technical Lead, Hands on experience with SQL, Python, Databricks and strong communication skills
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in SQL, ETL, Data Warehousing/Data Analytics, Python.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams, from Analytics to software engineering to business domains
• Experience on working with production runs and maintenance related activities
• Hands-on experience in extracting data using SQL, NoSQL and analyze it
• Familiarity with data inspection tools and creating mapping documents
• Knowledge of challenges and benefits of data extraction in In-Premise and Cloud deployments will be an added advantage
• Experience in Payment Integrity would be added advantage

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Strong logical reasoning and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with Azure Databricks, Microsoft Azure, including cloud architecture design, deployment, and management (Azure Functions, App Services, Azure SQL, etc.)
• Solid understanding of database design and working experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Ability to write efficient and secure code, following coding standards and best practices
• Experience with enterprise software development

Nice to Have:

• Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud)
• Exposure to front-end development frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.js.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and Kubernetes
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
