Across Content Strategy & Digital Delivery (CSDD) in Higher Ed US, we are transforming how content is planned, delivered, governed, and measured. This role will play a critical part in enabling data-driven decision-making across our product(content) development and content operations ecosystem.
The Business Insights & Reporting Lead (PMO) will serve as the analytical backbone of the PMO and Business support function , creating the dashboards, insights, reports, and performance views that power governance at the portfolio, program, and project levels. This role will work closely with Director PMO, Program Managers, Content Delivery Pods, COE, and CSC to ensure visibility of performance, risks, KPIs, and operational effectiveness.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly analytical, thrives in ambiguity, understands business context, and can translate incomplete information into meaningful insights — while clearly indicating confidence levels and assumptions.
Purpose
The Business Insights & Reporting Lead supports the PMO and Business support function by generating actionable insights, building dashboards for governance, enabling performance reporting, and ensuring a single source of truth for data across the Content Strategy and Digital Delivery .
This role will have responsibility for:
Insights, Dashboards & Reporting
Designing and maintaining dashboards across portfolio, program, and project levels to support governance processes and leadership decision-making.
Developing visual reports and insights that measure project success criteria, operational KPIs, risk trends, schedule performance, capacity, and delivery health.
Partnering with PMO and business teams to translate complex or incomplete data into meaningful, credible insights, clearly indicating assumptions and confidence levels.
Data, Analysis & Decision Support
Participating in project discussions to understand context and data needs, proactively shaping reporting requirements for projects and programs .
Conducting analysis to identify patterns, risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improved delivery or operational efficiency.
Tracking department-level KPIs (Content Operations, Content Delivery, Program Delivery) and publishing performance metrics through SharePoint and Smartsheet.
Maintaining a single source of truth for PMO reporting data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with governance standards.
Tools, Automation & BI
Building and enhancing reports using Smartsheet, Excel, and Power BI (training and upskilling will be supported).
Improving automated data flows and integrating AI tools across systems where possible, reducing manual reporting.
Documenting reporting processes and ensuring scalable, reproducible analytics practices within the PMO.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
Working closely with Program Managers, Content Operations, Data teams, Product, and Portfolio Management to collect inputs and validate insights.
Supporting PMO communication through data-backed narratives, visual storytelling, and summary insights for senior leadership.
Acting as an internal consultant to stakeholders to define data needs, reporting expectations, and metrics.
Essential Skills and Competencies
Strong analytical and data interpretation skills; ability to extract patterns and insights from structured and unstructured data.
Advanced skills in Excel and Smartsheet; willingness and ability to learn Power BI.
Strong business acumen and the ability to interpret data in a business context, even with incomplete information.
Excellent written and visual communication skills to present complex insights clearly and concisely.
Knowledge of the publishing processes
Ability to work independently, handle ambiguity, and problem-solve with limited direction.
Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively across teams and levels.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and comfort working with deadlines.
Ability to craft executive-level reporting, dashboards, and summaries.
Understanding of PMO operations, governance processes, KPIs, and success metrics (preferred).
Required Knowledge and Experience
Post-secondary degree/diploma or equivalent certification
3–5 years of experience in data analytics, reporting, PMO insights, business analysis, or similar roles.Experience with dashboards, reporting, and performance measurement tools (Excel, Smartsheet, or BI tools).
Experience supporting program or project management teams is an asset.
Digitally proficient: Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, SharePoint; exposure to Power BI preferred.
Experience in content development, digital delivery environments, or education technology is a plus.
