Data Analyst

Role & responsibilities:

A Data Analyst collects, cleans, and analyzes health data from various sources like Electronic Health Records (EHRs) to identify patterns and trends, ultimately supporting strategic decision-making, improving patient care quality, and optimizing operational efficiency for the hospital. The key responsibilities include managing data systems, creating reports and visualizations, ensuring data quality, and translating complex findings into actionable recommendations for healthcare executives and providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Collection & Management:

Gather, integrate, and organize large datasets from sources such as EHRs, insurance claims, and patient databases.

• Data Analysis:

Employ analytical and statistical methods to find trends, patterns, and insights within the data.

• Reporting & Visualization:

Develop reports and dashboards to present findings to stakeholders (clinicians, administrators) in a clear, understandable format.

• Data Quality & Compliance:

Monitor and ensure the accuracy and completeness of data, adhering to healthcare data regulations like HIPAA.

• Strategic Recommendations:

Provide data-driven recommendations to improve patient outcomes, enhance clinical decision-making, and optimize hospital operations and workflow.

• Technical Support:

Assist medical staff with technical issues related to data systems and help standardize data collection processes across the hospital.

• Types of Data Analyzed:

Clinical Data: Information from EHRs, including patient histories, lab results, and treatment outcomes.
