CSSD Technician

Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Receive, clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment. Inspect instruments for functionality and damage before and after sterilization. Properly package and label items for sterilization. Operate autoclaves, ETO, and other sterilizing equipment as per protocols. Maintain accurate records of sterilization logs and inventory. Ensure timely distribution of sterile supplies to operation theatres, wards, and other departments. Follow infection control and hospital safety standards. Assist in maintaining stock levels of sterilization supplies. Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly. Participate in audits and training programs related to CSSD operations. Qualifications and Skills: Diploma or Certification in CSSD techniques or Sterilization Technology. Minimum 1–3 years of experience in hospital CSSD (preferred). Knowledge of sterilization techniques (steam, ETO, plasma, etc.). Familiarity with infection control protocols. Attention to detail and good organizational skills. Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
