Location: Offshore (Rotation-based) – Mumbai High Oil & Gas Field

Job Summary

The Crane Operator is responsible for smooth, safe and efficient operation of fixed offshore platform crane ensuring trouble free operations. This role requires strong leadership, technical competence, and the ability to manage daily activities while maintaining strict compliance with safety and operational standards.

Please note: This role will have to be offshore — it is not an onshore job.

Key Responsibilities:

· Undertake offshore crane operational activities in a smooth, safe and efficient manner.

· To improve crane performance / condition, so as to reduce the breakdown and improve the crane availability / reliability.

· To assist in handling and storage of material at offshore platform.

· Assist in Crane operation for rigging and slinging of material.

· Proficiency in rigging techniques to secure loads safely and prevent accidents.

· To carryout pre-start check-up including but not limited to:-

Check diesel fuel, lube oil, hydraulic oil and cooling water level and top up as required before start.

Check Brake systems of Aux / Main hoist, Boom and Swing. Check for proper functioning of winches.

Check Safety systems like limit of travel and movement, Limit of safe operating load etc. for proper functioning.

Check Condition of the hoses and hose connectors. Replace defective hose if required.

Check Function of Control levers and pedals and lubricate as required.

Check Operation of cabin doors, wipers horn, fan etc and lubricate / clean as required.

Check belt tension and tighten if required.

Any other abnormality related to wire rope, sheaves, sound, leakages, smoke colour , vibration, etc. observed during crane operation is to be informed to Client Site In-charge

· Ensure compliance with company policies, HSE standards, and regulatory requirements.

· To maintain the log books for Crane operations.

· Obtaining completion certificate from client in a time bound manner.

· Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and conduct routine inspections.

· Report daily operations, incidents, and progress to client, onshore management.

· Troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate maintenance activities.

· Effective communication through hand signals and radio protocols to coordinate with supervisors and team members.

Qualifications & Experience

· API RP 2D (latest 7.0 edition or as revised latest edition) qualified Grade-1 Crane Operators

· Minimum 02 years in line experience of operation of Crane of Tonnage capacity 15T OR 01 Year Experience in ONGC Offshore Crane Operation.

· Understanding the mechanics of cranes, including hydraulic systems, load charts, and safety protocols.

· Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

· Certifications (Preferred) - First Aid, Safety and Fire Fighting, Huet, Basic Offshore Safety Instrumentation and Engineering Training (BOSIET), H2S safety training.

· Police Verification Certificate (Mandatory): The contractor has to submit Police Verification Report (Signed by an Officer who is authorized by an officer equivalent to DSP Rank or Higher) from the area where you have been residing since last five years. In case, the person concerned has not resided at a place for five years at a stretch, Police Verification Reports should be obtained from the place where the person has stayed earlier.

Job Types: Full-time, Contractual / Temporary
Contract length: 36 months

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹48,986.09 per month
