Costing Estimator - Fabrication Industry

Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior Engineer for Costing & Estimation with experience in pressure vessel and related equipment manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, generating quotations, and following up with customers until the project is converted into a Purchase Order (PO). This role will also involve analyzing project requirements and ensuring that all costing activities are aligned with industry standards and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities: 

Prepare detailed cost estimates for pressure vessel and related equipment manufacturing projects.

 Analyze engineering drawings, project specifications, and scope of work to generate accurate cost estimates.

 Collaborate with design, production, and procurement teams to gather cost information and ensure the completeness of estimates.

 Review and assess the cost of materials, labor, and overheads to calculate total project costs.

 Generate and prepare quotations based on cost estimates and project specifications.

 Submit quotations to customers and follow up consistently to ensure that the offer is considered and addressed.

 Address customer queries and provide additional clarifications related to pricing, scope, and technical requirements.

 Monitor the status of quotations and actively follow up with customers to convert quotes into formal Purchase Orders (PO).

 Provide input on cost optimization and recommend cost-effective solutions to customers.

 Assist in the preparation of bid proposals, including pricing and cost breakdowns for clients.

 Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to obtain quotes for materials, equipment, and services.

 Maintain detailed records of all estimates, quotations, and project cost history for future reference.

 Conduct risk analysis to identify potential cost overruns and suggest mitigation strategies.

Qualifications and Requirements:

 Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.  Minimum 5 years of experience in costing and estimation, particularly in the pressure vessel or related manufacturing industries.

 In-depth knowledge of costing methods, project estimation techniques, and materials costs.

 Familiarity with ASME codes, manufacturing processes, and industry standards.

 Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills.

 Proficiency in estimation software and MS Excel.

 Excellent communication skills to work effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.

 Strong negotiation skills and ability to close sales through effective follow-ups.

 Attention to detail and a strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Preferred Experience:

 Experience in estimating costs and preparing quotations for ASME U Stamped and related products.

 Knowledge of ISO 9001 or other recognized quality standards.

Additional Skills:

 Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

 Ability to assess risks and propose cost-effective solutions.

 Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
