Cost Accountant

Job Title:

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and analyze cost standards for manufacturing operations.
• Prepare and review cost sheets, product costing, and variance analysis (standard vs. actual).
• Monitor material, labor, and overhead costs to ensure accurate allocation and reporting.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses for process improvements, capacity planning, and inventory management.
• Prepare MIS reports, cost statements, and management dashboards for decision-making.
• Support in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives across departments.
• Work closely with production, procurement, and finance teams to validate cost drivers.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, internal audits, and company policies.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process efficiency, and profitability enhancement.
• Assist management in pricing decisions and tender/project cost estimations.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of costing methods (standard costing, activity-based costing, process costing).
• Hands-on experience in manufacturing cost accounting (preferably in steel, metals, or heavy industries).
• Good understanding of inventory valuation, WIP, and overhead absorption.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:

• CMA (Cost and Management Accountant)Bachelors degree in Commerce, Accounting, or related field.
