Job Description

Role Overview: As a member of the global Knowledge and Information Management (KIM) team at Mott MacDonald, you will play a crucial role in ensuring engineers and technical specialists have access to the necessary information to deliver high-quality results for clients. Your primary focus will be on developing and managing processes related to copyright compliance and client confidentiality. Additionally, you will work towards making external content such as engineering codes, standards, and guidance easily accessible to users. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement curation processes to ensure compliance with copyright and confidentiality laws. - Draft, update, and implement internal guidelines regarding copyright and confidentiality. - Design and enhance copyright curation processes to streamline the processing of copyright content. - Educate engineers on submitting copyright-free technical content for inclusion in the technical knowledge base. - Create procedures to check technical documents for confidential information in alignment with client contract requirements. - Train and support KIM team members on copyright and confidentiality processes. - Ensure all KIM processes adhere to copyright laws and industry standards. Proactively promote awareness of engineering subscription resources: - Educate users on how to access engineering subscription resources like codes, standards, and e-books. - Develop comprehensive guides detailing available engineering subscriptions and access methods. - Ensure easy accessibility of guides through the intranet for staff to utilize subscription content effectively. - Collaborate with the AI team to enhance discoverability of subscription content through internal AI tools. - Conduct training sessions to educate staff on subscription usage, copyright, and content policies. Working with the library team: - Assist the UK-based library manager in managing online subscriptions, including negotiations with publishers and user access management. - Collaborate with the global library team to address user queries and stay updated on relevant industry standards and content. Qualifications Required: - At least 8 years of experience in library management, subscription management, or copyright compliance. - Strong understanding of copyright law in corporate settings. - Proficiency in writing and implementing copyright and confidentiality policies. - Experience in managing external subscriptions and renewals in a business environment. - Master's degree in Library & Information Science, Information Management, Legal, or a related field (or relevant experience). - Additional certifications in copyright law are preferred.
