This role also involves tasks like planning, scheduling, and troubleshooting, while ensuring quality standards are met. Key Responsibilities: Production Planning and Scheduling: Develop and implement production schedules, prioritize tasks, and manage work flow to meet deadlines. Team Leadership and Supervision: Lead and supervise a team of machine operators, ensuring they are properly trained and equipped, and that safety protocols are followed. Machine Maintenance and Repair: Perform or oversee the maintenance and repair of machine shop equipment, including preventive maintenance and troubleshooting. Process Improvement : Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality. Quality Control: Monitor and ensure the quality of machined parts and products, using appropriate measuring equipment and testing methods. Safety Compliance: Ensure a safe working environment by following and enforcing safety regulations and procedures. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production runs, maintenance activities, and any issues that arise. Coordination: Coordinate with other departments, such as engineering and quality control, to ensure smooth production flow. Problem Solving: Identify and resolve production issues, including machine malfunctions, process bottlenecks, and quality problems. Skills and Qualifications: Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of machining processes, machine tools, and manufacturing equipment. Leadership and Supervision: Ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks effectively, and provide constructive feedback. Problem-Solving: Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical and operational problems. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with team members, management, and other departments. Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain accurate records. Safety Knowledge: Thorough understanding of safety regulations and procedures related to machine shop operations. Experience: Relevant experience in a machine shop environment, including operating and maintaining machinery, managing production, and leading teams. Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with additional certifications or training in machining, manufacturing, or a related field.
