Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities of a C&I Site Engineer

• System Design and Implementation:

Developing and implementing control strategies, selecting appropriate instrumentation, and designing control panels and systems for various desalination processes.

• Equipment Installation and Commissioning:

Overseeing the installation of control systems, field instruments, and other C&I equipment, ensuring they are correctly connected and calibrated.

• System Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Diagnosing and resolving issues with control systems, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring the reliable operation of the plant.

• Documentation and Reporting:

Creating and maintaining technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and operating procedures, as well as generating reports on system performance.

• Safety Compliance:

Ensuring that all C&I systems and operations adhere to relevant safety standards and regulations.

• Collaboration and Communication:

Working closely with other engineers, technicians, and operators to ensure the smooth functioning of the desalination plant.

Specific Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems:

Knowledge of electrical wiring, instrumentation principles, and relevant codes and standards.

• Experience with PLC/DCS/SCADA systems:

Hands-on experience in commissioning and troubleshooting these control systems, including integration with field instruments.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications:

Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), cable schedules, and other relevant documentation.

• Knowledge of desalination processes:

Familiarity with different desalination technologies, such as reverse osmosis (RO) and multi-effect distillation (MED), and their associated control requirements.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills:

Ability to effectively communicate technical information, diagnose issues, and develop solutions.
