Job Description Job Title Controls & Automation Engineering Specialist Location Chennai Job Specification Qualification Diploma / Engineering Graduate Experience 5 - 16 years Experience at Line builder / Service provider / OEM with required skills Competencies Purpose of the Role This role is to perform the Rockwell PLC & related program activities and commissioning activities from India for North America Region CARE (Conveyor Automation Robotic Engineering) team. Key Job Responsibilities Work with corporate counterparts - understand the technical requirement and deliver with high accuracy on time. Has a good understanding of Allen-Bradley industrial main components and Logix5000 platforms in industrial automation (controllers, I/O, communication modules and human machine interface terminals) and has had basic introduction to automation training and able to read wiring diagram schematics. Is able to develop/troubleshoot an Allen-Bradley - Rockwell basic programmable logic controller (PLC) program(create and organize a basic ladder logic project, configure standard and safety I/O modules & communication modules, download/upload, go online, monitor and force I/O, update controller/devices firmware, create tags,create data types, configure controller to produce/consume data, analyse and troubleshoot a system using a trend chart) # develop/troubleshoot a basic human machine interface (HMI) program using Rockwell Software - Factory Talk View Studio (create and customize new application, add and configure graphic displays, add and customize graphic objects/indicators/control, create basic animation, add local messages) # create communications configuration, create and manage runtime files, # use application manager tools to upload, download runtime files, create backup). # Can design and troubleshoot advanced PLC program (meet level 2 and 3 requirements and in addition able to retrieve and set GSV/SSV instructions, # generate/remove safety signatures lock/unlock safety PLC, map safety tags, # configure Logix5000 message, monitor and modify controller properties, enable time synchronization, # monitor and configure standard and safety scan time, install EDS/AOP, compare files, export/import to/from l5k/l5x, # create add-on instructions (AOIs), remove udt/tags/routines/AOI/programs, update program comments. # Can design and troubleshoot advanced HMI application (meet level 2 and 3 requirements) # able to create global objects and global graphic displays, create objects with animation, # create tags with parameters, modify global connections, test application/displays. Handson experience in Allen-Bradley industrial automation (Compact Logix, Control Logix, Guard Logix series PLCs) and Rockwell software (RS Logix 5000, Studio 5000 (Logix Designer), FactoryTalkViewStudio, FactoryTalk Linx. Develop and improvise the existing PLC, HMI & related logics and support for the virtual commissioning activities. Knowledge in the IEC 61131 standard is preferable Knowledge in Automotive industry and related projects / equipment is desirable. Knowledge in handling verify the E plan drawings, control panel circuits, power wirings - is added advantage Certified training from Rockwell training centre is desirable Key Skills Expertise in Rockwell PLC Softwares - RS Logix 5000, Studio 5000 (Logix Designer), FactoryTalkViewStudio, FactoryTalk Linx. Good in communication skills and English language skills. Software skills Rockwell PLC, HMI & Related software platforms MS Office Power BI Behavioural Skills Adhere the factory safety standards & Procedures Willingness to work in North America time & Europe time lines. Willingness to work in shifts, extending work hours & week ends (when necessary) Willingness to accept other job responsibilities as and when needed. Project management and supervision skills
