Role Overview Senior Data Engineer

The Senior Data Engineer will design, build, and operationalize data platform components, working within cross-functional pods. The role requires strong hands-on skills, collaboration with architects and pod leads, and the ability to deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement data integration pipelines and models.
• Build and maintain solutions with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, ADLS, Purview, Erwin Mart, Profisee, Terraform.
• Develop/optimise data solutions using Python, SQL, and Notebooks.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps.
• Modernise data infrastructure and deliver scalable solutions.
• Implement governance, MDM, and metadata management frameworks.
• Collaborate with POD Leads, architects, and stakeholders to resolve technical challenges.
• Conduct testing, validation, and performance optimisation.
• Document solutions and configurations for knowledge transfer.
• Contribute to support and continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Experience

7+ years in data engineering/data platform development.

Hands-on expertise in:

• Python & SQL (data engineering, automation)
• Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, ADLS, Notebooks
• CI/CD & Azure DevOps
• Microsoft Fabric
• Microsoft Purview
• Profisee (MDM frameworks)
• Erwin Mart (data modelling, metadata management)
• Terraform (IaC, automation)

Operational Skills

• Strong knowledge of governance, metadata, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience with large-scale data platform initiatives.
• Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in collaborative, client-facing teams under tight timelines.
• Immediate availability preferred.
