Job Description

Role & responsibilities

We are seeking a detail-oriented Content Migration Specialist to lead content migration efforts from existing sites and support ongoing content migration initiatives for new sites and content implementations. This role focuses on accurate data handling, content organization, and meticulous quality control throughout the migration process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute end-to-end content migrations from legacy systems to modern CMS platforms, ensuring content integrity and accuracy
  • Support new site launches by managing content migration planning, execution, and validation
  • Collaborate with clients and project managers to develop migration strategies, timelines, and task priorities
  • Create and maintain comprehensive content inventories using Excel and Google Sheets
  • Audit source content to identify migration requirements, content gaps, and formatting issues
  • Enter and format content in CMS platforms, including text, images, links, and metadata
  • Perform quality assurance testing on migrated content to verify accuracy, formatting, and functionality
  • Document migration processes and maintain detailed tracking logs throughout projects
  • Troubleshoot and resolve content-related issues in a timely manner
  • Communicate progress, risks, and blockers to stakeholders throughout the migration lifecycle
  • Manage multiple migration workstreams simultaneously while meeting project deadlines

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working with CMS platforms such as Optimizely, Contentstack, WordPress, Drupal, Sitecore, or similar systems
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets for data organization, manipulation, and reporting
  • Strong experience with Google Docs and Microsoft Word for content documentation
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage large content inventories
  • Strong attention to detail with commitment to data accuracy and quality
  • Experience working directly with clients and project stakeholders in a professional services or agency environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for client interaction and documentation
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic knowledge of HTML for formatting content in rich text editors within CMS platforms

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Digital Asset Management (DAM) solutions such as Bynder, Cloudinary, or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with content migration tools and CSV file manipulation
  • Experience creating and maintaining content style guides and documentation
  • Understanding of content workflow and approval processes
  • Background in content coordination, editorial support, or digital content management
  • Experience with project tracking tools (Jira, Asana, Monday.com, or similar)

Technical Skills

  • Expert-level Excel/Google Sheets skills including formulas, data validation, pivot tables, and filtering
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) for collaboration and documentation
  • Comfortable learning new CMS interfaces and content entry workflows
  • Basic HTML knowledge for formatting rich text content (bold, italics, links, lists, headings)
  • Ability to work with various file formats (CSV, XLSX, DOCX, PDF)
