Responsibilities
Perform daily administration of Oracle databases (12c, 19c, 21c) across production, UAT, and development environments, ensuring availability, performance, and security.
Monitor database health, storage utilization, tablespace growth, RMAN backup status, ASM disk groups, and alert logs using OEM/Cloud Control, AWR/ASH reports, and OS utilities.
Execute backup and recovery tasks using RMAN, Data Pump (expdp/impdp), and snapshot technologies validate backup integrity and maintain retention policies.
Assist in applying PSUs, patch sets, RU/RUR patches, and performing database upgrades/migrations following change-control processes.
Troubleshoot incidents and service requests raised via ServiceNow, including performance issues (slow queries, locking, high CPU/I/O), backup failures, and replication issues.
Administer and manage user accounts, roles, privileges, profiles, encryption (TDE), auditing policies, and security hardening as per organizational standards.
Perform performance tuning using Oracle Explain Plans, indexes, SQL tuning advisor, optimizer statistics, and AWR analysis.
Manage Oracle RAC, Data Guard standby databases, switchovers/failovers, and log shipping monitoring.
Maintain CMDB entries and standard operating procedures related to Oracle environments.
Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure, and storage teams during deployments, schema changes, and production releases.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Hands-on experience supporting Oracle 12c/19c databases in enterprise environments.
Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, indexing strategies, and basic query optimization
Experience with RMAN backups, Data Pump, OEM/Cloud Control, tablespace management, and database cloning

Experience working on Linux/Unix environments and OS-level troubleshooting
Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem).
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
Primary Skills: Oracle 12c/19c, RMAN, Data Guard, RAC, ASM, OEM/Cloud Control, Performance Tuning.
Secondary Skills: AWS RDS for Oracle, Azure Oracle workloads, GoldenGate replication, Exadata fundamentals.
Certifications (preferred):
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) - Database Administration
Oracle Database Associate (OCA)
Experience with automation using Shell scripting, Python, or Ansible is an added advantage.
Exposure to enterprise tools such as Splunk, JIRA, Jenkins, ServiceNow.
