Job Description

You are being hired by URC Construction (P) Ltd for the position of Construction Contracts Manager. As a Construction Contracts Manager, your key responsibilities include: - Reviewing and analyzing commercial and contractual aspects of tender documents. - Listing salient features, rights, obligations and liabilities under the awarded contracts and presenting them to the execution team. - Identifying contractual risks and proposing risk mitigation plans. - Ensuring projects are executed as per the design intent and employer's requirements. - Identifying variations/deviations from the original scope and promptly notifying the client for change order approval. - Preparing and following up on variation claims or any other claims in discussion with the project manager. - Highlighting major changes or deviations from the original scope well in advance. - Identifying and raising claims due to work methods varying from the Contract Boq and specification. - Identifying extra items from the BOQ specification in consultation with the project team and preparing claims. - Ensuring contractors and sub-contractors comply with the contract and taking corrective action if needed. - Responding promptly to all contractual letters from the client to avoid disputes during contract closure. - Preparing and issuing contractual correspondence and maintaining a complete file of contractual letters. - Maintaining contractual records and documentation in chronological order. - Applying for extensions of time (EOT) in alignment with the contract and ensuring EOT is granted as per requirements. - Coordinating with project teams, legal, finance, insurance, and taxation for validation and inputs on relevant contractual aspects. - Resolving conflicts, providing legal advice, and renewing/redrafting contracts. - Assessing damages for non-performance of sub-contractors. - Developing effective working relationships with clients and supporting the project team on contract administration throughout the project lifecycle. Qualifications required for this role include a B.E/M.E in Civil Engineering or related courses, with 7 to 13 years of experience in commercial, residential, or industrial building projects.
