Concept - Artist

Xivon Interactive is seeking a Concept Artist who specializes in realistic and cinematic environment design. As a Concept Artist at Xivon Interactive, you will play a crucial role in defining the visual direction of immersive and grounded worlds, ensuring a balance between storytelling and functional design. Your work will serve as a key reference for the 3D team and contribute significantly to the look and feel of both games and cinematic content. Responsibilities: - Create visually rich and realistic concept art, focusing on environments and prop-heavy sets. - Develop moodboards and visual reference sheets to establish tone and direction effectively. - Utilize AI tools such as Midjourney/DALLE alongside manual paintovers and traditional methods. - Deliver cinematic frames that emphasize lighting, mood, spatial logic, and detail. - Provide real-world-inspired references and prop lists that enhance believability. - Collaborate closely with 3D artists and directors to ensure visual alignment across projects. Requirements: - A strong portfolio showcasing a realistic style in environment concept art (urban, industrial, natural, etc.). - Excellent sense of composition, lighting, and grounded storytelling. - Proficiency in using real-world references effectively (Google, Pinterest, photo packs, etc.). - Skilled in Photoshop (or similar tools); experience with AI tools for ideation is a plus. - Attention to detail, particularly in materials, lighting, and scale. - Effective communication skills and willingness to iterate based on feedback. Bonus Skills: - Familiarity with film lighting, lensing, and real-time production pipelines. - Basic understanding of 3D blockouts (Blender or SketchUp). - Interest in architecture, industrial design, or cinematic pre-vis. - Experience in working with stylized realism or hybrid 2D-3D pipelines. Visual Style: Xivon Interactive is looking for a visual style reminiscent of works like The Last of Us, Sicario, True Detective, District 9, or other realistic cinematics. The preferred style is less stylized fantasy and more grounded, functional, and tactile worldbuilding. Strong environmental storytelling through clutter, props, mood, and light is highly valued.
