Compositor

As a Compositing artist at Artisan Media, you will be responsible for the visual quality of shots for the animated film. Your role involves integrating 2D & 3D scenes while adhering to technical rules and the artistic vision of the project. You will perform numerical compositing tasks at all stages of the production pipeline. **Responsibilities:** - Construct the final image by combining layers of previously-created material, such as rendered computer animation, FX, graphics, and static background plates. - Ensure seamless combination of levels and create mattes where necessary. Enhance lighting, match blacks and color levels, add grain and motion blur as required, and create convincing shadows. - Collaborate closely with FX and Lighting Artists to develop compositing strategies and achieve an aesthetically balanced look. - Demonstrate understanding of various composition techniques and cinematography principles, including depth of field, density, and use of filters. - Light characters and environments across different settings, times of day, etc. - Possess good technical knowledge of 3D lighting to understand the "multi passes" created by Lighters. - Integrate 3D elements to meet high standards of visual effects feature film production and ensure shots meet rendering requirements. - Seamlessly integrate live action, Blue/Green screen, and CGI sources. - Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and leads to overcome delays and meet deadlines. - Collaborate with other members of the Compositing team and VFX department. - Demonstrate a strong creative eye, problem-solving attitude, and understanding of linear workflow. **Desired Skills:** - Experience in Hollywood VFX preferred. - Willingness to learn new tools, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills. - Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and within a production environment. - Good team player, self-motivated, and results-oriented. - Ownership of projects to meet deadlines and client requirements. - Ability to understand client instructions and deliver desired output. - Conduct self-reviews and quality checks for accuracy. - Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills. - Assess time required for high-quality work accurately. - Flexibility to work morning/evening shifts and finish tasks independently. - Accountable for meeting productivity and quota targets. **Software Knowledge:** - Nuke, Photoshop, Silhouette, and any tracking software (added advantage). **Job Location:** Chennai, India.
