Compliance Assistant (Economic Substance)

As an Economic Substance profile at our company, your role will involve performing a detailed review of all documentation and communications for your assigned portfolio of clients in the context of economic substance requirements. You should demonstrate the ability to develop an in-depth understanding of the BVI Economic Substance Regime and its application. Your key responsibilities will include: - Advising on and providing guidance for complying with economic substance legislation, such as: - Advising directors on the direction and management test - Understanding Core income-generating activities as per the Economic Substance Act - Ensuring compliance with outsourcing obligations within the Act - Maintaining adequate record-keeping for obligated companies - Fulfilling Director's obligations as per the Act - Handling end-of-year filing requirements and certifications - Addressing premises and person requirements - Monitoring transactions and meeting reporting requirements - Analyzing existing business models for compliance with economic substance legislation Additionally, you will be responsible for staying updated on all regulatory changes related to the Economic Substance regime and overseeing filings with relevant statutory bodies as required by the economic substance requirements act.
