Job Description

Role Summary

Commis I is the senior baker on the frontline — shaping dough into delight, ensuring consistency, and supporting the section like the steady heartbeat of the bakery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, bake, and finish breads, rolls, pastries, and basic confectionery as per hotel standards.
  • Maintain product consistency, portion control, and presentation quality.
  • Assist in developing new bakery items under the guidance of CDP/Pastry Chef.
  • Monitor stock levels, report shortages, and assist in daily requisitions.
  • Ensure mise en place is ready for all service periods.
  • Maintain hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards at all times (HACCP compliance).
  • Train and guide Commis II and trainees.
  • Operate bakery equipment safely (mixers, ovens, sheeters, etc.).
  • Support banquet and café requirements as needed.

Skills & Requirements

  • 2–3 years of bakery experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of breads, doughs, and basic pastries.
  • Ability to handle peak production smoothly.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Qualification : Diploma or degree in hotel management specialised in bakery and confectionery
