Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy BI solutions using

    IBM Cognos Analytics 11.x

    .
  • Create scalable and reusable models using

    Cognos Framework Manager (FM)

    .
  • Build complex reports, dashboards, scorecards, and advanced visualizations.
  • Develop dimensional and relational data models, including

    star and snowflake schemas

    .
  • Implement drill-through, drill-down, and parameterized reports.
  • Optimize report performance and ensure adherence to BI development best practices.
  • Work with relational databases such as

    SQL Server, Oracle, DB2

    , and integrate data from flat files, JSON, and NoSQL sources.
  • Ensure appropriate security by managing Cognos roles, groups, and row-level access.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the SDLC, ensuring high-quality, testable, and scalable BI solutions.
  • Support deployment, troubleshooting, and tuning of Cognos applications.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in:
    • Cognos Framework Manager
    • Report Studio & Dashboard development
    • Cognos Analytics 11.x (Data Modules, Reporting)
  • Solid understanding of BI concepts and semantic modeling.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience in SQL-based relational databases.
  • Experience with data modeling techniques and schema design.
  • Knowledge of BI development processes, performance tuning, and deployment best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience working in Banking or Financial Services domain.
  • Familiarity with ETL concepts and data pipelines.
  • Exposure to Agile development practices.
