VMC Machine Operation: Ability to operate and set up CNC VMC machines according to required program and drawing specifications.
CNC Program Reading & Editing: Understanding G-code/M-code; minor program edits as needed.
Tool Selection & Setting: Knowledge of tool types, offsets, tool wear adjustment, and tool change procedures.
Fixture & Job Setting: Proper alignment and clamping of jobs/fixtures on the machine.
Drawing Interpretation: Ability to read mechanical/dimensional engineering drawings.
Measurement & Inspection: Use of measuring instruments like vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, dial indicators, etc., for in-process and final inspection.
Troubleshooting: Ability to troubleshoot minor machine, tool, or program-related issues.
Basic Maintenance: Performing basic preventive maintenance tasks for the machine.
Material Knowledge: Familiarity with machining different materials (mild steel, aluminum, etc.).
Production Documentation: Completing production and quality documentation as per requirements.
Safety Practices: Understanding and maintaining machine shop safety norms.
Teamwork & Communication: Ability to coordinate with the team and follow instructions efficiently.
